Workshop Wetplate
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to make direct positive tintypes from start to finish. Each image is exposed directly in camera onto blackened metal, creating a one-of-a-kind photograph with its own unique character.
Using silver, chemistry, and light, tintypes have a timeless, almost surreal quality — and when cared for properly, they can last for generations. During the workshop, you’ll get hands-on experience with the full process: pouring plates, exposing, developing, and varnishing your own images.
Whether you’re completely new to wet plate photography or just curious about the process, this is a chance to slow down, experiment, and leave with a few handmade tintypes of your own.
